Sarah and Tim welcome you to Lavender Barn. We have tried to create surroundings where you immediately feel a sense of calm as you drive through the gates. We hope you will feel at home in our comfortable cottage and have a wonderful holiday in this beautiful part of Cornwall.

The cottage is a converted barn set in the rolling hills between the fishing harbour of Porthleven and the ancient market town of Helston; both are only a mile away. Porthleven is delightful with a reputation for excellent cuisine. There is a sandy beach for swimming, fantastic rockpools for exploring and the south-west coast path stretches for miles in each direction. Nearby Praa Sands is great for surfing, body boarding as well as swimming. The north coast has several excellent surfing beaches all within a 20-40 minute drive.

The Lizard peninsula is on our doorstep with numerous rocky coves, sandy beaches and a wealth of places to discover.

The area to the west of us is fascinating in its history with many ancient sites still visible. St. Just, Cape Cornwall and the Minack Theatre at Porthcurno are all within easy reach.

Falmouth (14 miles), Penzance (14 miles) and St. Ives (14 miles) all have a buzzing art and music scene.
The Helford Estuary is 12 miles away where sailing and kayaking are very popular

Accommodation

Spacious open-plan living area consiting of the sitting room and kitchen. The en-suite bedrooms are situated at either end of the barn.

Kitchen - Well equipped - Electric cooker, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave and a good selection of cooking utensils. There is a washing machine and ironing facilities adjacent to the kitchen

Sitting Room - Light and stylishly furnished; large sofa plus a double sofa bed. Wifi, Smart TV, DVD and music system

  If the weather keeps you indoors there are games and cards
  to play although there are still many great places to visit
  whatever the weather
 

  Bedroom 1 - Two single beds or one super-king bed. Ensuite bathroom
  with shower, bath and loo

Garden - The cottage has its own pretty garden area and patio with table and chairs for al fresco dining. There is a barbecue, around which is your own herb garden with fresh mint, lemon balm, sage, roesemary and chives. There's a washing line for drying clothes and wetsuits

Parking - Space at the cottage for 2 cars

Lavender Barn is set within our property but we have been careful to create your own private area and will respect your privacy. However, you have the advantage of us being nearby if you have any queries.

Prices include all linen and bath towels (please bring your own beach towels) and the cleaning at the end of your stay. We provide you with a basket of logs and kindling. 

On arrival you will be greated with a 'welcome' supply of fresh bread, milk, freshly baked cake, cookies or scones. We start you off with some tea, coffee, oil, vinegar and a few essential spices. Flowers in the sitting room.

Pilates and Massage Studio

If you like the idea of having massage while you're on holiday then you've come to the right place. Sarah is a Sports Therapist and Pilates teacher with years of experience and expertise. She runs retreats at Lavender Barn (and Lanner Vean Barns) several times a year but also loves it when guests request a massage or a Pilates session when on holiday.
